Isuzu Commercial Trucks of America has announced that its 2022 F-Series trucks are now in mass production. This is the first time Isuzu is using Cummins diesel engines, following the partnership agreement signed by the two companies in 2019. The agreement aimed to evaluate and capitalize on opportunities, conduct joint R&D, and introduce new diesel power and powertrains to the global market.
The 2022 F-Series models will feature the high-powered Cummins B6.7 engine, delivering 260 horsepower and 895 Nm of torque. This engine will be used in all three F-Series models.
Isuzu has a long-standing presence in the US market, and this marks its first use of gasoline engines in light vehicles and Cummins engines in medium-sized vehicles. There is also a possibility of Isuzu providing small truck engines to Cummins in the future.
As a well-respected light and medium truck company, known for its engine technology, the news of Isuzu using Cummins engines signals a strong alliance between the two companies, offering consumers another option in the market.
